Taylor Swift Chooses C & F Enterprises Linens
May 31, 2011
People Magazine's May 9th, 2011 edition features Taylor Swift's country chic decorating choices for her Nashville, Tennessee home.
Miss Swift purchased over fifteen fabric designs in Franklin, Tennesee's Harmony Home, a unique home furnishings store and retailer of C & F Enterprises. Three fabric designs from C & F Enterprises were highlighted in People magazine including: a "Jacobean Blue" placemat, "Brighton Red Toile" placemat and the "Berkeley Green" quilt.
The Jacobean Blue placemat is an allover blue floral design that is distinctly bold, imaginative and exotic, but the overall impression is very feminine. The pattern is available in tabletop, bedding, and draperies.

Brighton Red Toile is a Williamsburg licensed design. Romantic red vines and berries trail sweetly across this eggshell round placemat. The collection includes round and rectangular placemats, runner, napkin, apron, rug, valance and full bedding set.
Berkeley Green is an allover floral pattern with classic and understated vintage elegance. The soft, sage green coloration is feminine and welcomes an ecru and chocolate floral toile design.

Amy Simcik, the owner of Harmony Home notes, "Miss Swift has elegant taste, she created a beautiful tablescape with unique place settings for each of her guests from the C & F patterns we carry. She enjoys mixing patterns and her table will be a feast for the eyes." In addition to the three items featured in People, Harmony Home reports twelve additional tabletop patterns were selected by Miss Swift. These include C & F's Vivienne, Emma, Kona Bay, Stafford Royal, Marianna Cream, Brighton Green, Windsor, Windsor Yellow, Stafford, Deanna, Caspienne, and Bonita. She also purchased three quilted bedding sets including; Vivienne, Berkley Blue and Berkley Green.
Mr. Nelson Chow, Vice President, comments, "We are seeing growth in quilted linens and particularly in bedding as the choice for a younger generation. The quality, handcrafted texture and beautiful designs appeal to a classic trend that is crossing generations."

The aprons are both flirty and flattering with five tiers of ruffles and a pocket. Matching half aprons are available in selected styles.
The coordinating children's aprons are embroidered with cute sayings for the budding chef such as "Little Miss Independent", "A cupcake a day keeps the sweet tooth away", and "Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice". These are great gifts for Mother's Day or any occasion.
"The mother/daughter aprons are perfect gifts and complement the resurgence of cooking as a popular pastime," claims Kimberly Haden, Marketing Communications and Innovation Manager at C & F Enterprises.

Designer Dialogue: Travel-Inspired Merchandise
April 11, 2011
Question: What is new in the industry?
(submitted by Carrie—New Jersey)
Answer: Travel inspired merchandise is a new trend in the decorative accessories marketplace. Paris seemed to take the lead with graphic icons of the Eiffel Tower, fleur de lis, Arc de Triomphe, French phrases, or locations on decorative pillows, rugs, furniture, and accessories. With Great Britain's royal wedding in the news, crests and crowns are also on the rise. Surrounded by reminders of faraway places, escape on a vacation without leaving the home.

A well crafted, eye-catching wood display will hang the rugs in retail stores for easy shopping.

Question: How should a store display your bedding
(submitted by Michelle—Charlotte, North Carolina)
Answer: For retailers, it is important to create lifestyle settings, in vignettes, by theme or color. The initial, visual display is what attracts the consumer. They need to see the bedding as it will look in the room of their dreams. Layering product is a great way to make a statement. Begin with a solid matelasse as a base and then add a quilt for the next layer, with coordinating standard pillow and accent Euro shams. Drape a throw on the bed, or fold an additional matelasse or quilt at the foot of the bed. Accent pillows in various sizes, patterns and textures can be added in odd numbers (such as 1, 3, or 5) to complete the look. This will add drama to the display as well as increase the sale with the accent pillows. Good Question!

New Collection: Barbados
Feb 21, 2011
C & F Enterprises is proud to introduce a highly anticipated collection in collaboration with licensing partner WILLIAMSBURG.
"We are so honored to continue to work with The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Our textile designers are inspired by archived fabrics, fashion and the gardens of Colonial Williamsburg. It is amazing how a printed toile fabric taken from the 18th century can be so relevant and on trend today. Good design is absolutely timeless!" states Jennifer Sheridan, National Sales Manager for C & F Enterprises.
Barbados, a Caribbean Island inspired collection, features leafy palms, warm natural colors and authentic images from the island nation's history in two radiant bedding collections, table linens and pillows. C & F Enterprises brings the Caribbean into the home with Barbados, a new bedding collection boasting a pattern of rustling palm trees in two colorways: calm, neutral Sand and warm, vibrant Sunset. The design, which illustrates the timeless fascination and romance of the tropics, is inspired by a 19th-century palm toile fabric, while the coordinating pillows and rug are inspired by an 18th-century antique map and rare botanical prints.
The purchase of WILLIAMSBURG products supports The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation's award-winning educational programs and mission, helping Americans interact with history in a way that is simultaneously engaging and entertaining.

Trends In Christmas Trim
February 7, 2011
Knitted ornaments and ornaments made of felt, wool, and cotton add a handcrafted warmth to the holiday tree. The two color stories most seen for Christmas 2011 are traditional reds and greens, along with classic plaids, and a lodge inspired neutral palette, with cream, taupe, beige, and browns. Patterns in knits include stripes and polka dots, as well as Nordic patterns. Texture is key with surface interest in nubby or curly fabrics and faux fur. Add warmth to your holiday tree with Gallerie II's Homespun, Plaid Greetings, and Winter Forest themes.
The gingerbread and "sweets" theme offers plenty of tasty treats. Ice cream cone ornaments are the newest addition to gingerbread children, cookies, cakes, and candy. Gallerie II's Sugar and Spice will satisfy your sweet tooth.
Customers are becoming more interested in eco friendly items, indicating ornaments in natural materials, such as buri, will be successful in 2011. All of our forest friends, including owls, squirrels, deer, moose, bears, and more, can be found in Winter Forest, made of sustainable buri fiber.
Brightly colored ornaments in turquoise, purple, fuschia, bright green, and orange, often with foil or glitter finish, continue to be on trend. Gallerie II's Making Spirits Bright is a fun, whimsical collection featuring snowmen and colorful birds amidst foiled ball ornaments in six bright colors.
Snowmen bedecked in brightly colored hats, mittens and scarves are having winter fun throwing snowballs, sledding, and ice skating in Gallerie II Flurries collection.
